For conventional planked decks finished with either cedar or pressure treated lumber, we utilize a construction method which has no surface fasteners. Not only does this improve the wood's longevity by preventing sitting water from getting into the wood fibers, but it also means there are no splinters around screw heads over which you walk barefoot. In addition, the look of a deck surface with no screws turns a nice looking deck into a thing of beauty. Wood decking comes in a variety of grades and dimensions which impact cost - we will work with you to determine the optimum choice for your deck.
Where your deck serves as a protective cover for the area below it, we can apply plywood and a vinyl membrane to the framing to make it waterproof. If you want both this utility and the look of a wood deck we can also go a further step and give you both membrane coverage with a 'floating' plank deck on sleepers.
